The Authors' Personal Advisory Service is a personal one-on-one service that offers information, advice and assistance to aspiring novelists.

The kind of help given varies according to what each client requires. Some people have wanted to start a novel, but didn’t know how to set about it. Others have already started by the time they contact me, but need advice and assistance, while many have finished a novel and don’t know what to do next.

I also offer an individually tailored Creative Writing Course, which is structured to meet the requirements of each client. I quickly learnt that ‘one size does not fit all’ when it comes to a creative writing course.

Along with the above services, I always include some pages explaining the intricacies of the world of publishing, and some of the more confusing terms that first-time authors will come across as they start the long journey towards getting an agent and/or a publisher.

In my advertisements I put that I offer ‘an efficient and friendly service’, which I believe that I do. However, on reflection it’s hard to imagine anyone saying that they offer an inefficient and unfriendly service, so perhaps this should be taken for granted! What I’m really trying to say is that while I’m honest, and don’t hesitate to point out flaws and weaknesses, I always try to do this in a constructive and encouraging way. This is because I believe that even if you never get published, if you enjoy writing as a hobby then you should be able to get help to enable you to write to the best of your ability. Of course, most people do want to be published, and my aim there is to help those people achieve their goal.
